When we were renovating our warehouse, time came to address the kitchen splashback. Our kitchen is where good conversation starts due to the fact of course, that good conversation goes with great food and drink. What else could stimulate the space and stimulate hunger better than Tiepolo’s ‘Banquet of Cleopatra‘?
As far as I knew it wasn’t possible to print your own image on glass in a kitchen as the usual film used is not fire safe. But we were working with The Splashback Company and they happened to be looking for an artist to showcase their new technology… fire rated print on glass! Funny how sometimes the things you love just find you. So I drew my version of the painting and now we live with this piece every day.
Then, mum wanted one too…and most recently another commission was completed of a landscape of The Blue Mountains for a Sydney renovation (images to come).
